I'd go look at it and decide if you can stand to watch it, the panel itself looks pretty dated as far as tech, the price is definitely good though.

I should say my current tv is an 80cm circa 1999 konka...

I'm not an avid watcher of TV or DVD's that's why the price caught my attention... Wish I could see one in real life somewhere...

well let us know how it looks when you get it. Just because it's not the latest thing doesn't mean you'll hate the picture as I had a 23" tn panel Acer here that I got on a similar stupid price deal and it looked way better then you'd think it would. I have a 23" IPS LG now and other then the much better viewing angle and improved color gamut the Acer looked about as nice overall.

The 46" thin bezel LCD they sell is somewhat appealing... But then i could get an LG 50" plasma with all the other 'smart tv' inclusions for the same price...

If they aren't IPS at least they tend to look washed out, IPS and full LED local dimming is as good as it gets for a LCD these days so of course they all are going to edge lit because it's cheaper to make and the panel can be stupid thin.
