DVD Region Issues
« on: January 17, 2010, 08:11:35 PM »
Hi there,

On this laptop I have the regions appear to be unchangeable, even though it has changes left, and has issues with playing certain DVDs.

I have been trying to find a place to download/install a decent version of DVDRegionFree 5.9 or some alternative. However it is immensely difficult to find, with a lot of download links being broken and such, and all I have managed to find so far is a pesky trial version that lets you play for only 15 minutes.

Any help with finding some decent unlocking software for this?

Cheers :)

-Polski

As above.

Yep AnyDVD, have it running when you insert the DVD and it does not matter what region the disk is and what the drive is set to.

I wouldn't employ the management of Telstra to run a length of string between two jam tins.

This is only free for 21 days though - marginally better than the current version I have of DVDRegionFree 5.9

option 1) Pay for it(it is worth it if you have lots of non-R4 DVDs).
option 2) Don't pay for it.

Like Caelum said, it is worth it.

I guess you could look at ripping it to your hdd and playing it off there. Something oldschool / free like DvdShrink maybe....
