How do find the Mac Address on a Mac?

My boss wants my to put his wifes new Mac on their wireless network.
As well as how to find the Mac address of his wireless adapter is there any gotchas I need to know with Macs?

Apple menu (top left corner)
then About this mac
then more info...
then go to network in the list.

All the info you need, and more.

No gotchas. Have a play, it's all fucken easy.
System preferences in the apple menu is like control panel on windows.

I've said a few times in the past... I played with OS X (10.4) for a few hours once, before never using it at all previously. Within 2 hours i was navigating intuitively within the system.


It just makes sense, once you work out how it thinks.

Z: Yes, that's one way - but Daj never having used a Mac before, would then have to navigate to the terminal application in the utilities folder of the applications folder.

The apple menu is a lot easier to find for someone in unfamiliar territory.

Ok firstly I wish Zeb had posted that before I went there as the MAC address is not shown where RD said.

Anyway I found it in the end once I knew that the bastidges dont call it a "wireless network adapter" like everyone else in the educated world but some poofy name instead.





Thanks for the help though guys, I almost phoned you RD but your tip about the control panel done the job ;)






Lastly, other than finding the places and names in an unfamiliar OS the job to to add it to the wireless network was... [drum roll] [/drum roll]

easier than a PC!

Curious, it's right there on mine.. Get into System profiler like i mentioned before, and then click on the network header - and it shows the details for the airport (wireless) connection...
Anyhow, you got it sorted in the end, and didn't hate your Mac experience too much I hope?

I almost didn't mention how easy it went as I was scared it might get nabbed in someones signature. No chance of converting me though.



I've said it many times before and I'll say it again. The OS is just one step above a driver as far as I'm concerned. The only purpose it has is to allow me to run the software I want to use on the hardware I choose.

That is why I don't get the fascination with Macs.
