RD's disc of +9 Ultimate-fear-invocation
« on: September 20, 2006, 08:25:15 AM »
So, some months ago, for a joke...and just to piss me off, RD sent a lone single PRINCO DVD-R 4x to me. Bastidge.

The time came to burn it, this morning, as I sat here running up Rapoosev3. The results, are quite unlike ANY scan I've seen. Ever seen 30% jitter? ;)

Enjoy - just put on some sunscreen first eh?

I like the Quality Rating!  This was cooked in a A11XL? He must have 'pre-conditioned' this disc a bit

I'm still blown away by the jitter measurement...it's close to impossible.

Funnily enough, this disc was stored in a cool, dry dark cupboard, waiting for an excuse to send it to Z. It should have been in pristine condition, however one might say it's been cellared..

It seems unlike a good red wine, Princo does not improve with age :P

I know Princo are nasty but that seems a lot different to these Princos...

They are around 3 years old before burning.

That one was up to a couple of years old. Had been kept in a spindle, in a dark dry cupboard basically all its life.

I'm thinking so. Very Zebraesque.

Hi guys, have you checked what kind of MID your princo disc has? Is your burner inside Princo's compatibility list? If your burner has to take the standard writing strategy, pls do not be disappointed due to high Jitter (if your system can measure the Jitter correctly).

+1 to that. I'm sure a Pio111 would have some descriptors for this MID of Princo. Even using default, it still doesnt explain how poor it is

well yeah.... the MID is princo.... being the top quality media company that they are, they have so much faith in their media, that they only need to name every different type of disk in the lineup "PRINCO"

So Z... it's been just over 2 years since this burn... still got the disc? I'd love to see a scan now! I reckon the disc would be about 6 or 7 years old now.

Do it, you know you want too.
